Try not to die of shock when you see I'm posting twice in one month! lol
Over on Facebook, Kyra Lennon posted a round-up of the last decade, and I thought it'd be cool to do the same ... only my post started to become longer than any Facebook post should be, so I decided to move it over here to my blog. Although I posted earlier on in the month looking back on the year, and talking about my goals for 2020, I wanted to touch on them a little again, while also reflecting on all that's happened to me since 2009. So, here it is ... Happy almost Christmas, everyone! I know it's still over two weeks away, but I'm feeling Christmasy, and given I only have a little bit of work to finish, I probably won't be back between now and 2020, so I thought I'd post a little update.
Before I get to what's been going on recently, I just wanted to let everyone know I have a new release. My Nutcracker Retelling, short-story, SOLSTICE SPELL, is now available on Amazon. Okay, now onto the update. I'm not even going to make excuses for not updating in so long ... life happens. And if you want to know what's been happening in my life since August, click the 'Read more' link.
No, I haven't turned into Jack Skellington (although I am listening to Halloween music!). I just thought it was a fitting title to this month's blog as I'm actually posting early! *gasps*
So, what's been going on in my 'working' list since last month? Read on to find out .... Honestly, with blogging, I really shouldn't make any promises anymore! lol
I do enjoy doing it, it's very cathartic, and it's always great to have the posts to look back on, but I always seem to prioritise other things over blogging, especially as I'm trying to enforce the rule of no working on a weekend. Case in point, I actually started this entry almost a month ago, then forgot about it, and fell into my usual lazy patterns. Additionally, I've come to realise I want to keep this blog for writing/ work related updates, and I want a private blog for personal updates. I'm in the process of creating a new private blog, I'm just trying to find a site that has all the features I want, but from here on out, these posts will be more 'work' related and less personal. Still, I'm here now, and ready to update you on what's being going on recently. Hey all!
So, I started writing an update back in March, then got bogged down with work, sickness, more depression issues, so that I never ended up updating, and now it's almost June! WTF?! I'm going to try to be more regular with my blogging from now on, so fingers crossed on that front. Let's see what's been going on since my last update. So, as you've likely noticed I haven't been around much since October. Those of you I'm friends with on Facebook will know why, but for the sake of recapping, here's what's been going on in the last few months...
(Note: I actually started this post on Jan 30. It's now Feb 11. Part of the reason was because I was busy proofreading, the other reason is I'm stilling trying to get back to 'normal' where I actually enjoy doing things that isn't sleeping/ watching random crap on YouTube) [More under the cut] Hey!
I'm back with a new blog update. I'm a bit out of sync with my schedule, and have pretty much missed October, but ah well, that's life, I guess. But enough of that, let's get to it... It's September the first, meaning all over the UK, witches and wizards aged between 11 - 18 are aboard the Hogwarts Express, travelling to Hogwarts.
Alas, my Hogwarts letter never came, and I'm just a simple muggle, updating my monthly blog. *queues The Little Mermaid soundtrack* "I wanna be where the wizards are, I wanna learn, wanna learn the magic. Casting spells with those (Whad'ya call 'em?) oh - wands. Waving your hands you don't get too far. Wands are required for magic and hexing. Strollin' along down (What's that place again?) Diagon Alley. Where they fly. Where they run. Up where they play Quidditch all day in the sun. Wanderin' free, wish I could be, going to Hogwarts..." Okay, with that musical interlude over, onto what's being going on in my life this past month... We go on holiday (or vacation for those in America) on August 13 and I CANNOT WAIT! It's really hard to focus when you have little over a week until you'll be sat on a beach drinking Starbucks iced lattes.
But focus I must, as I still have a week of work, so here's an update on life etc. this July... |
